Welcome to the Project Director’s Guide and Project Management Hub. The Hub is a dynamic repository of information and resources to help you manage your Healthy Start program. These resources can help your program reach Healthy Start goals to reduce disparities in infant mortality and adverse perinatal outcomes by:
- Improving women’s health,
- Improving family health and wellness,
- Promoting systems change, and
- Assuring impact and effectiveness through workforce development, data collection, quality improvement, performance monitoring, and evaluation.
Successful project performance involves both providing high quality, effective services to participants and satisfying programmatic expectations established by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB), Division of Healthy Start and Perinatal Services (DHSPS).
The Hub focuses on eight areas of project management: Scope, Human Resources, Budget, Schedule, Communication, Quality, Contracting, and Risk.
Each section of the Hub contains an overview of the project management area, guidance specific to Healthy Start programs, HRSA resources and tools, and other resources. “In the Field” features insights and advice from HS project directors and project managers. If you are interested in learning more about the history of the Healthy Start Program, visit the About page.
Your Healthy Start Project Officer can answer questions about your project scope and DHSPS’ expectations of HS grantees. In addition to the Funding Opportunity Announcement, your project officer is your best source for information about your award requirements.
