Each morning of the Virtual Grantees’ Meeting, Dr. Deborah Teplow will provide thirty-minute Movement & Meditation (M&M) session for attendees. These sessions are optional and will explore how the science of behavior change can help you incorporate physical activity and mindfulness into your daily life. On Day 1 (Wednesday, June 24) the M&M session will be held from 11-11:30 a.m. EST. On Days 2 and 3, the sessions will be held from 11:30 a.m.-12 p.m. EST.

This session will provide updates on all the Division of Healthy Start and Perinatal Services’ maternal health investments. The speaker will also share information about opportunities for Healthy Start grantees to participate and collaborate with maternal health awardees.

Joia Crear Perry, MD, FACOG, Founder and President of the National Birth Equity Collaborative

In this panel, the speakers will define key terms in birth/reproductive justice and equity and describe how birth/reproductive justice frameworks can translate to partnership development. They will outline opportunities to partner with others and sustain this work on the local level, including describing how doulas and nurses can work collaboratively. Finally, they will discuss the impact of COVID-19 on maternal health and share lessons learned during the pandemic.

In this panel, the speakers will explore the interaction between fathers, families, children and health outcomes. They will share approaches to understanding fathers and their roles in families today. Finally, they will review innovative methods for reaching fathers.
