The inherited blood disorder may cause acute pain episodes, infection and other serious health problems that can affect every organ in the body. Comprehensive and coordinated care can drastically improve health outcomes. But, according to a recent national study, a majority of patients have had to miss appointments that have the potential to improve their health and quality of life.
