Healthy Start is a community-based program that applies an outcomes-oriented service system approach to achieve program goals of reduced infant mortality and disparities, and improved maternal health outcomes. The Healthy Start EPIC Framework is a continuous quality improvement framework that guides the implementation of the Healthy Start Program across the four perinatal periods (preconception/interconception, postpartum, prenatal, and parenting). It is a standardized approach to assessing and addressing participant and community needs and ensuring those needs are met.
